CMN telethon 2008 Kids and HostsThe local Children’s Miracle Network Celebration broadcast, which aired on NBC Augusta on May 31 and June 1, raised $925,000 to benefit the services and programs at the MCGHealth Children’s Medical Center.

“The numbers have shown us once again that this community is pleased with the quality and vitality of services provided at the MCGHealth Children’s Medical Center,” said Connie Guinn, Philanthropy Officer at the MCGHealth Children’s Medical Center. “Thanks to the generosity of our community, our families, our staff and NBC Augusta, we had another successful celebration year, which will allow us to continue our excellent level of health care for kids.”

Dozens of volunteers manned the phone lines for about three hours on Saturday and seven hours on Sunday as contributors called in to pledge their support. During the weekend alone, pledges and donations totaled nearly $20,000.
