Who ever thought a building could be designed as a healing environment? And yet that is exactly how the new MCGHealth Cancer Center in Augusta, Georgia is designed. Using a modern, scientific approach known as evidence-based design along with the expert advice of cancer patient advisors, the new facility brings in nature and sunlight . . . it welcomes family and friends . . . and it puts patients in charge in as many ways possible.
The building will be 57,000 square feet with a parking garage the same size. Featuring a beautiful lobby and commons area, the building will offer the following clinical services:
- 30 exam rooms designed for patients by patients
- 30 infusion stations looking out to a beautiful rooftop garden. These stations will offer flexibility to provide the utmost privacy or the ability to visit with other patients and families – whichever the patient prefers
