The Adult Sickle Cell Clinic was established in 1972 as a service within the Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center at MCG and was funded by the National Institutes of Health. When funding from that source was discontinued the clinic became part of the Ambulatory Care Services operated by the Hematology/Oncology division of the Department of Medicine. In 1995, the clinic was relocated to our present site at 1521 Pope Avenue.
The clinic is open to patients Monday-Friday from 8:00-4:30. In addition to routine office visits, a treatment room is available for management of acute problems.
