Fetal Echocardiography
Fetal echocardiography,or echo, is a type of ultrassound that can detect heart defects before birth. The Fetal Echo program at MCG Children’s Medical Center uses advanced cardiac imaging for early diagnosis to give babies a greater chance at survival.
The test is usually performed around 18 weeks of pregnancy. Our physicians work in close collaboration with the mother’s OB/GYN to ensure safe delivery and the best possible care for each child.
