Office of Philanthropy and Partnership
|
Gifts both great and small have a huge impact on our patients and their families.
The MCGHealth Office of Philanthropy and Partnership enjoyed a busy and productive year. We reorganized our resources and laid the groundwork for a department that will serve as the philanthropic arm of MCGHealth and further its clinical mission. With excellent community support from people like you, we raised more than $1,020,000 in 2007. These charitable funds were used to improve care for MCGHealth patients young and old. The long list of equipment and programs funded by your contributions includes:
- State-of-the-art equipment that quickly detects infectious diseases such as MRSA (early detection of this dangerous infection can improve outcomes)
- A touch-screen educational computer system for parents of tiny babies – some of whom weigh less than one pound – in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
- Specialized pediatric stethoscopes designed for listening to hearts no larger than the tip of a thumb for our Pediatric Heart Services
- Renovation and expansion of the Cancer Clinic to improve patient comfort by reducing wait times during treatment
Thanks to your generous donations, many families in our community will benefit from these improvements. Together, we are enhancing the Patient Family Centered Care that nationally distinguishes MCGHealth.
Thank you for making our year so meaningful.
