Baby Signs
The Baby Signs® Program teaches babies to use simple, easy-to-do gestures for communicating with their parents and caregivers. These gestures or “signs” represent an item or concept, like “cat,” “eat,” or “all gone.” Classes are held in the MCGHealth Children's Medical Center, first floor classroom. Breastfeeding Class

This free class is helpful for expectant parents who are planning to breastfeed to gain as much knowledge and confidence as possible to help ensure success.The instructor is a International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

Car Seat Classes

Classes teach car seat safety, education and training.
You must be Medicaid or Peach Care eligible to take this class.
$10 registration fee. Registration is required.

Four out of five car seats are used incorrectly. Could yours be one of them? Allow technicians from Safe Kids East Central, led by the MCGHealth Children’s Medical Center, to teach you how to use your car seat properly and learn next stages.

P.R.I.D.E.

Georgia Teens Ride With P.R.I.D.E. (Parents Reducing Incidents of Driver Error) is a national award winning, two-hour free program that helps establish a dialogue between parents and new teen drivers (ages 14-16) prior to the 40 hours of supervised practice driving time required by law. Project Link
Project Link is a service that provides educational resources and guidance for families who have children with developmental delays, disabilities and special health concerns. All sessions are from 6:30 - 8 p.m. in the first floor conference room of the MCGHealth Children's Medical Center , Room 1810. Each session is approved for one DHR credit. Safe Sitter Class
Saturday, June 28

Wesley United Methodist Church
This nationally recognized and award-winning curriculum teaches 11 to 13 year-olds how to handle emergencies while caring for younger children. During the course, instructors provide students hands-on practice in basic practical techniques so they are prepared to act in a crisis. Instructors also provide tips to help sitters become confident caregivers, including safety and security precautions, such as what to do if a stranger comes to the door and when and how to call for help. Youth Fire-Setters Prevention Program
A program co-led by Safe Kids East Central that provides educational and counseling intervention to youth and their families experiencing problems with fire setting behavior, while providing a better understanding and rehabilitation of the consequences dealing with the misuse of fire setting materials and fire. ALS Support Group

The ALS meeting is an essential tool in helping patients, families, friends and caregivers of those effected by ALS. The meetings provide opportunities for individuals to share their personal experiences and learn more about strategies for preserving the independence and quality of life for ALS patients and their loved ones. Participants learn they are neither alone nor without help. Meetings are free and open to all patients, family members and friends. Lunch is provided.
