Augusta, GA--
MCGHealth recently entered into a network affiliation agreement with Washington County Regional Medical Center in Sandersville, Ga. The 56-licensed bed, full-service community hospital provides a wide variety of primary and acute care, including a 60-bed extended care facility.
"Washington County Regional will continue to offer primary and secondary care while MCGHealth will provide coordinated access to the tertiary and quaternary care needed for more complex cases," said Rich Bias, Senior Vice President of Ambulatory and Network Services, MCGHealth. "Washington County Regional does an outstanding job of meeting the primary and acute care needs of its community, so MCGHealth will focus on serving those patients whose medical needs require the services of medical subspecialists who are not readily available in the Sandersville community."
MCGHealth entered into a similar agreement with Statesboro’s East Georgia Regional Medical Center in 2007 and Jefferson Hospital in Louisville in 2005. Previously, MCGHealth established affiliations with four critical access hospitals in the East Central Georgia region. "These affiliations are part of our ongoing program to ensure that rural areas continue to get quality medical care," Bias said.
