MCGHealth Eye Care Center Hosts Macular Degeneration Luncheon

April 22, 2008

Augusta, GA--

Age-related macular degeneration is the leading cause of blindness in senior Americans, with approximately 200,000 new cases diagnosed each year.

Dr. Julian Nussbaum, Clinical Service Chief of Opthalmology at MCGHealth and Professor and Chair of Ophthalmology, Medical College of Georgia, will discuss the latest diagnoses and treatments when the MCGHealth Eye Center hosts a Macular Degeneration Lunch and Learn on Friday, May 2, 2008, from noon to 12:45 p.m. at MCGHealth Medical Center, 1120 15th Street, in the Magnolia/Dogwood Rooms of Terrace Dining, second floor.

Is macular degeneration hereditary? Will I go blind? Does it affect both eyes? Bring your lunch and a friend and find the answers. For more information, call Sheryl Alba at 706-721-1165.
