MCGHI Pharmacy Manager Named District Director of the YearSeptember 18, 2007Augusta, Ga.

Scott Savage, Pharm.D, M.S., Pharmacy Manager at MCG Health, Inc., has been named District Director of the Year by the Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists.  He received the honor for providing the best regional continuing education sessions related to content and volume over the past year.  He has been a District Director of the Central Savannah River District for two years.

Savage joined the health system in 2004 after serving for two years as a Pharmacy Resident and Staff Pharmacist at The Ohio State University Medical Center.  Prior to that, he did his residency training at The Ohio State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

He has undergraduate and graduate degrees in Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an M.S. degree in Health System Pharmacy Administration from The Ohio State University.

In addition to being a member of the GSHP, Savage is a member of the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, the Rho Chi Pharmaceutical Honor Society, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy Alumni Board of Advisors.

The GSHP is a professional society of pharmacists and related personnel practicing in organized health care settings.
