MCG Health System will soon be “Puttin’ on the Pink” to help raise awareness of breast cancer and the importance of maintaining breast health.

During the month of October, pink ribbons will decorate the campus of MCG Health System to recognize breast cancer awareness, and employees will wear pink every Friday during the month. The inspirational, personal stories of breast cancer survivors will also be featured throughout the hospital.

MCG Breast Health Services will present a free series of Lunch and Learns on October 5, 12 and 26 from noon to 1 p.m. at Terrace Dining, located on the second floor of MCG Medical Center. Specialists will present a variety of topics related to breast health, including the role of MRIs and health issues after surviving breast cancer. On Thursday, November 1, the MCG Cancer Center presents its second annual pink party for breast cancer awareness at the Marbury Center in downtown Augusta. “Puttin’ on the Pink” will celebrate breast cancer survivors and the team of MCG Health System professionals who work with them. A luxury spa vacation for two will be raffled off during the event to benefit the MCG Cancer Center, which provides treatment, education, prevention, support groups and awareness.
