MCG Health, Inc. Earns Five Marketing AwardsJune 19, 2007Augusta, Ga.

MCG Health, Inc.’s brand-new electronic newsletter, a recent advertising campaign for the MCG Children’s Medical Center and its consumer website were recently honored with five awards by three prestigious marketing associations.

At its annual meeting, the Georgia Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations announced that MCG Health, Inc. had earned awards in two categories at the 2007 Target Awards, which recognize outstanding marketing and public relations programs within Georgia’s health care organizations. Taking a top honor this year was e-News, MCG Health System’s new electronic newsletter, which earned an Award of Excellence in the category of External Newsletters/Magazines.

In addition, an Award of Merit in the category of Overall Marketing/Public Relations Program was presented for the ad campaign, “Because There Are Children,” which featured the inspiring stories and photos of children who are current and former patients at the MCG Children’s Medical Center.

At the 28th Annual Telly Awards, which honor local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as video and film productions, the “Because There Are Children” ad campaign was again recognized, this time with a Bronze Telly Award in the category of Nonprofit Total Advertising Campaign. This year’s Telly Awards received more than 13,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents.

Healthcare Marketing Report, the national newspaper of health care marketing, recently announced winners of their 24th annual Healthcare Advertising Awards. Awards of Merit were presented to the “Because There Are Children” ad campaign in the category of Total Advertising Campaign (with TV) for Children, as well as to MCG Health System’s website, MCGHealth.org, in the category of Web Site/Home Page. The Healthcare Advertising Awards is one of the nation’s oldest and largest advertising awards competitions.

“Awards like these affirm not only the fine work of our marketing staff, but of our entire organization,” said Kim Marlatt, Director of Marketing & Planning at MCG Health, Inc. “Without their dedication to caring for our patients and families, we would have nothing to say.
