Dr. David A. Snyder has been named Vice President of Patient Care Quality and Safety at MCG Health, Inc.

A general surgeon with broad clinical experience, Dr. Snyder came to MCG Health, Inc., after working at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska, for four years as their Chief Physician Executive and then Chief Operating Officer.  Prior to that, he was the Program Manager of the Clinical Information Technology Program Office in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs; directed the medical staff of the United States Pacific Fleet Surface Force; commanded Naval Medical Center, Oakland, California; and served as Chief of Surgery at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md.

Dr. Snyder holds an M.D. degree from the University of Southern Calif., an M.P.A. in Healthcare Administration from Troy State University, and a B.A. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.  He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Medical Management and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American College of Physician Executives.
