MCG HEALTHCARE STARTS PSP SUPPORT GROUP

MCG HealthCare is starting a new support group for people with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, beginning August 28 at 6:00 p.m. in the sixth floor Rehabilitation Services conference room at MCG Hospital. PSP is a rare, debilitating and degenerating movement disorder. Actor Dudley Moore is the most well known sufferer of PSP.

MCG Hospitals and Clinics also supports a number of other groups:

The CSRA Parkinson's Support Group meets the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. at St. John's Tower on Green Street. The meetings include light refreshments, guest speakers and sharing with other people with Parkinson's and care partners. In addition to regular monthly meetings, the group meets for a fun night out every other month on various days and at different times and places.

The Young Onset Parkinson's Disease Support Group meets the third Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the sixth floor Rehabilitation Services conference room at the Hospital. This group is for people under 50 years of age who have been diagnosed with Parkinson's.

The Parkinson's Disease Care Partners Discussion Group meets the second Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the sixth floor Rehabilitation Services conference room at the Hospital. This meeting is for spouses, family members and caregivers.

The Aiken Area Parkinson's Support Group meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Aiken Area Council on Aging, 159 Morgan Street. The meetings include light refreshments, guest speakers and sharing with other people with Parkinson's and care partners.
