Pediatric Rheumatoid Arthritis

The Pediatric Rheumatology program at MCG Children’s Medical Center is a pioneer in treating childhood rheumatic diseases. For more than 25 years, dedicated physicians and staff have provided comprehensive diagnosis and care.

Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis is the most common form of arthritis in children. It may be a mild condition that causes few problems over time or cause joint and tissue damage. Program staff work with more than 1,000 children every year and coordinate clinical care with the child’s pediatrician and care team from diagnosis to treatment.

As part of our belief in family-centered care, our staff considers family a key component to a child’s recovery. We understand the emotional, physical and social needs for a child with a chronic illness and work to regain a child’s growth, development and most importantly, get them back to just being a kid.
