Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery
The Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery program at MCG Children’s Heart Center provides comprehensive care for children with congenital and acquired heart disease. As the region’s only pediatric heart surgery program, we perform more than 200 complex cases each year for newborns, adolescents and all ages in between.
What makes our program unique is the collaboration of a multidisciplinary team of OB/GYN physicians, neonatologists, cardiologists and surgeons who provide continuous care from the time a baby is born through surgery and recovery. With some of the country’s leading pediatric cardiac surgeons, our program has shown continued success in helping children with even the most complex conditions including hypoplastic left heart syndrome, transposition of the great vessels and tetralogy of Fallot.
Physicians and staff work closely with each family to ensure they understand the procedure and every step of their child’s recovery. Our team is dedicated to the unique needs of children and works to ensure that each child has the chance for a bright future with a healthy heart.
